About Us
Pearce & Co Dentures, formerly Saunders Denture Clinic, is a new chapter for the well-established Launceston clinic. The clinic remains at the same location with the same experienced team, now under the ownership of dental prosthetist David Pearce, who brings extensive experience in denture care and a strong commitment to quality.
Their biggest difference is simple: they listen. Every patient is different, so they take the time to understand their needs, concerns and what they want to achieve before recommending the right solution. Their aim is to provide a higher level of personal service, quality and care, while building on the trust the clinic has established with the local community.
Meet the Team
Dave Pearce
David first came to Tasmania in 1996 to study Dental Prosthetics, graduating in 1997 after two years living and training on the island with his then wife and young family. Tasmania has always held a special place in his heart, and after more than 14 years running two well-regarded dental prosthetic clinics on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula, he has made the decision to return.
With almost 30 years’ experience in dental technology and prosthetics, David is one of Australia’s more experienced dental prosthetists. Throughout his career, he has mentored and trained dental technicians and prosthetists, and in 2024 worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Bachelor of Dental Prosthetics program in Brisbane.
David has extensive experience in implant-retained overdentures and believes great denture care starts with great communication. He takes the time to listen, understand each patient’s needs and expectations, and work with them to achieve the best possible result.
This personalised approach is at the heart of Pearce & Co Dentures.
David is excited to be back in Tasmania, drawn by the quality of life, world-class hiking, clean surf breaks and the incredible lifestyle the island offers.
Janet Callander
Janet is a lifelong Tasmanian local with more than 37 years of experience in the denture industry. Known for her friendly nature and steady professionalism, she has become a trusted and familiar face for patients across the community.
Her career began under respected clinician Angus Poxon, where she undertook an apprenticeship and completed her formal training at RMIT in Melbourne. This strong foundation shaped her into the highly skilled, detail-driven clinician she is today.
For over a decade, Janet has been an integral part of Saunders Denture Clinic, now Pearce & Co Dentures, supporting patients with care, consistency, and a genuine commitment to their wellbeing.
Outside the clinic, Janet is happiest outdoors: camping, mountain bike riding, and enjoying Tasmania’s natural beauty, especially when those adventures include catching up with friends. Her love of the outdoors and her community shines through in her warm, down-to-earth approach to patient care.
Sarannah Barnett
Sarannah’s professional journey began with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Sydney in 1996. Her passion for creativity and attention to detail eventually led her to dental technology, completing a Diploma of Dental Technology at Southbank Institute of TAFE in 2006, followed by an Advanced Diploma of Dental Prosthetics at RMIT in 2014.
Since completing her studies, Sarannah has gained extensive experience in private practices across Queensland and Launceston, as well as with Oral Health Services Tasmania, where she began working in 2010. Her work combines creativity, technical skill and clinical understanding, allowing her to provide patients with high-quality prosthetic solutions delivered with care and precision.
Sarannah is passionate about personalised care and helping patients regain confidence, restore function and bring back their smile. For her, this is what makes dental prosthetics such a rewarding profession.
Outside of work, Sarannah enjoys travelling, camping, hiking and exploring Tasmania’s wilderness. She also loves baking, spending time in the garden and enjoying time with family, friends and her much-loved fur babies.
